Fish ceviche and tempura fish tacos were super yummy! Friendly service and the band was really good too! Able to get Strongbow cider, which can be harder to find.

We had bang bang shrimp to start - they were bangin’ and did not disappoint! Fresh cut fries & homemade mashed potato’s were so good. We ordered the Chicken parm, ribs & a quesadilla for the main dishes - all were very delicious too! Service was top notch, made us feel right at home, good drinks, prices were fair (especially for being on 5th) and everyone was very fun & friendly, we’ll be back! Highly recommend! Bonus: they have AC inside if you need to cool down a bit

I was fortunate enough to meet Peter the owner of The Freaky Tiki Bar and Grill at the hotel I was stay, he was visiting family that where stay at the hotel. As soon as he told me there did proper chip and not French fries I was hooked, fortunate Peter invested myself and the people I had made friends with. The chips and fish were nothing short of absolutely amazing and the best fish and chips i had eaten outside the UK. The staff are fantastic, the location is stunning and Peter was an amazing host. I loved it so much we went back for our last meal of the holiday. I would recommend this absolute amazing restaurant 5***** You won't believe the prices, I'm not a burger person but my friends had them and they loved every month full and they look exactly like the photos. Tell Peter Duncan sent you 5*****

We just arrived when the bar had changed ownership to Bruce. He was awesome, came to the table himself to serve us. He'd removed some of the vegetarian options from the menu, but when I asked he made a vegi burrito special just for me, and it was FANTASTIC. All the servers were so kind and friendly. We will absolutely be going there again.

My wife and I spent almost two months in playa del Carmen. We normally cooked for ourselves, but found ourselves eating at the Freaky Tiki many times. Over our stay, we had many different items on the menu and the food was consistently good at a fair price. The atmosphere is relaxed, and has indoor and outdoor seating with a good mix of canned music that is not too loud. (American music.) They have live music in the evenings, I think, Thursday - Sunday after 6PM. The burger is good and they have a daily special before 5PM that includes fries and a beer for 150 pesos... which is a little over $8 US. (They will substitute the beer for a soda or bottled water.) Note: I normally like my burger a pink medium, but I learned that I had to order well done... anything else, it came out rare to medium rare. Well done burgers were still very good and juicy. My wife and I also recommend the burrito, the fish tacos, fajitas, and the fish and chips. We do not speak Spanish, but had no problems here. They have English menus and most of the wait staff also spoke English. Please note that it is not a 5 star restaurant with linen napkins and table cloths... MY 5 star review is because it is over all a nice casual place to eat that won't break the bank.

Very pleasantly surprised when I finally went through the door past the old VW Beetle convertible. Inside there's a covered area for eating and drinking and then beyond there is a very pretty little courtyard to relax and enjoy your meals and even swim in the very tempting pool. It appears to be a fairly quiet neighborhood for a peaceful night if staying in one of the rooms and a pretty decent location overall, so I'd be happy to suggest that you also check out the room rates too.

Simply put, great food, great staff, great service and great prices! One of the best burgers ever! Their daily specials and Happy Hour is nothing short of excellent. Get there early cause the joint fills up quickly right around Happy Hour! Highly, highly recommend. Found right on the corner of 10 Ave and 22 Calle, it’s a must try. Just look for the lime green VW Beetle!
